CAMIGUIN CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Last November 30-December 4, 2009, Jose Antonio Rodriguez  visited our community and he expressed  much joy and marveled a lot on the gift of nature, the kindness and simplicity of people he encountered in the island. He was warmly welcomed by the members of the Alay Kapamilya and Social Development (AKAPS-DEV) members in the different  areas.  On the other hand, his presence brought joy and life to the people
And the community as well. We sent him off with much gratitude for a very short visit  as he is accompanied by our prayers as he moves on in the mission God has entrusted to him.  Hasta la vista Jose Antonio, si Dios Quiere.

December 6, 2009 was the AKAPS-DEV Formation Team recollection  with Chairman Jessie Ebalang.  Their recollection experience will be part of their preparation for the in coming recollection of all the members.

December 8, 2009 – Feast of the Immaculate Conception.    The AKAPS-DEV had an apostolate of presence and fraternity to the newly organized BEC community of Banao, Catarman, Camiguin whose fiesta was being celebrated on this great day of our Blessed Mother.  We brought the picture of Mother Candida which was received  and  installed  in their small Chapel by their chapel leader, Elda Ebalang.

AKAPS-DEV in Mission – After the 9:00 A.M. Mass at the  Immaculate Conception Chapel in Banao, Catarman, Camiguin

After the “Misa” is “La Mesa” . Almost twenty members of the AKAPS-DEV attended the mass and was invited to eat In the house of Mrs. Elda Ebalang, the Chapel Leader.  Well, thanks be to God!  He really knows what we need after a long journey and climbing  high muddy  mountains of Banao.   Srs. Emma and Rosie were with them. Our parish Priest Fr. Remar S. Dagoc was also invited and took lunch with us.

December 11, 2009-AKAPS-DEV Advent Recollection-First Batch  at Candida Pastoral Center given by the AKAPS-DEV Formation Team Members.  It was attended by around thirty Five members  from the different areas.

December 14, 2009-  Srs. Emma and Rosie joined the advent recollection and Christmas Party of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro. The Recollection was held at 1:00 P.M. at Carmelite Monastery, Camaman-an and the Christmas party was held after the recollection at San Jose Seminary in the same place. The recollection was about   the re-echoing of the  Priests’ Discernment Seminar in Metro Manila. There were three invited speakers a Policeman, a priest and a religious sister who spoke of their prophetic roles in the Church.

December 15, 2009- More than Three Hundred Youth of San Roque Parish joined the Parish Youth Advent Recollection in preparation for the National Youth day the following day.  It was an overnight activity where many youth from the different Baranggays of Catarman  came and participated in all the activities which was held in the Parish itself. It was started with  a torch parade around the town then the activities followed. The Hijas de Jesus Sisters helped in the revival and reorganization of the Parish Youth Ministry this year.  These youth also sponsored the first day Dawn Mass on the 16th.  They had choreographed some parts of the mass, sung the responsorial psalm, the readers and the choir of the day.  We believe that the activity would make a difference in their Christian life.

December 19, 2009 – AKAPS-DEV Advent Recollection – Second Batch. Held at Candida Pastoral Center  and were attended by 25 members from the different areas.  The recollection was given by two AKAPS-DEV Formation Team Members (Virginia Torayno and Perla Bedro)

December 23, 2009 – AKAPAS-DEV Christmas Party 
The Day’s Activity of  Games and Presentations from the different areas were highlighted by the Veneration  of the Child Jesus

December 23, 2009 – And the Christmas party was culminated by  giving of Gifts (packs of goods for the members and candies for the children)   Everybody went home happy with the joy of Christmas.  Before they parted, they expressed their deep gratitude to the donors who in one way or another became part of their joys and praises to God. 

December 26, 2009 – Camiguin by Night .  The Community together with the Families of AKAPS-DEV Formation Team and the Families of Dodo Bullas and Laling Maglunsod   went around Camiguin Island  to visit Parishes’ Belen and Christmas lights.  This is a celebration  of the feast of  Holy Family the following day December 27,2009. 

December 27, 2009 –  The San Roque Parish Youth Ministry  took charged of the Pasko sa Parokya Celebration  held at San Roque Parish, Catarman.  Many from the different  Baranggay came and participated in the activity.  The whole community was also there.
