THE HIJAS DE JESUS SCHOOL CELEBRATES MOTHER FOUNDRESS' FEAST DAY
ESTANCIA, ILOILO
Every year, the Hijas de Jesus educative community celebrates Mo. Foundress’ month to honor and remember her and to make alive in each one her spirit. This year, the community had a simple, yet meaningful celebration, which started with a novena sponsored by the Faculty and Staff and students. They integrated in their novena the virtues taught by Mo. Candida such as Hope in God, Simplicity and Honesty, Justice and Respect.. Trust and Confidence, Fortitude and Self‑discipline, Humility, Temperance, Charity and Faith.
The culminating activity was held on August 8, 2008 with a solemn and meaningful Eucharistic celebration. After that, they opened the school and their hearts to their adopted students from Estancia National High School
and to the women of Mo. Candida's Club. They shared together with them their simple snacks sponsored by the students and pupils. Then a special program followed with the participation of their adopted students and women. The program was highlighted by the portrayal of the life of Mo. Candida. Before they ended the celebration, they had the gift giving which consisted of noodles and canned goods, which were offered by the students, faculty and staff during the novena. These goods were given to the brothers and sisters from the National High School and the women of Mo. Candida's Club. It was indeed a simple yet memorable celebration!
MO: CANDIDA WOMEN'S CLUB CELEBRATION
The Mo. Candida Women's Club celebrated the feast day of Mo. Foundress last August 10, 2008 in the school campus. They prayed and had beautiful sharing of their faith experience based on the Gospel reading and on the life of Mo. Candida. Despite their multiple responsibilities in their respective families, they were all present and prepared their song and dance numbers for their program. They also brought home-cooked foods which they happily shared with the Sisters. This was what is most touching, that despite of their poverty, they generously brought and shared a lot of vegetables, fruits, and eggs with the Sisters. They were given snacks by the Sisters. They also received medicines, clothes and religious articles which were given by the Sister schools. The Women of Mother Candida’s Club went home happy and grateful for the love and generosity they experienced after receiving blessings from the Sisters and from God, through Mother Candida.
