KHS CELEBRATION OF MOTHER FOUNDRESS’
96th DEATH ANNIVERSARY
July 28 – August 31, 2008
We launched Mo. Foundress 96th Death Anniversary Celebration last July 28, 2008 with the theme “BLESSED CANDIDA: HER LIFE AND MISSION … A BLESSING… A CALL… FOR GREATER LOVE AND SERVICE.”
The launching was followed by the nine days of prayer in honor of Blessed Candida. We also had the exhibits of her life and some available relics. The students participated through poster and collage making, drawing and creative presentations on the theme of the celebration.

Our celebration was highlighted by our Eucharistic Celebration on August 8, 2008, Friday. Our main celebrant was Fr. Manuel Montesclaro, S.J. As a Jesuit, he was able to animate the community of the spirit and life of Mother Foundress with joy and conviction. There was an active participation from the assembly. On the other hand, the whole student body was able to gather and offer many things for the poor.

In the afternoon of August 8, 2008, the faculty and staff had a meaningful encounter with Blessed Candida through an animated prayer session, socialization, and simple table fellowship. An atmosphere of joy and thanksgiving prevailed from each member.
Furthermore, the F.I. Youth had organized a special moment with Blessed Candida. Many members attended and enjoyed the celebration. On the other hand, the F.I. Kids had special formation on August 9, 2008, to honor Mo. Foundress. All the activities were geared towards knowing and loving her. Each member brought varied things for the poor. As a community, they brought snacks to be shared for all. It was a joyful and meaningful encounter with Blessed Candida on her feast day.
As an expression of our love for Mo. Candida, on August 16, 2008, an outreach activity for the poor children nearby was facilitated by the F.I. Kids. Other than the F.I. Kids, a number of the preschool kids with their parents came to witness and experience the joy of sharing what they have for the poor.
The month long celebration was deepened through the integration of Mo. Foundress’ person, life, and virtues through classroom encounters especially in CLE classes.
We ended the whole month celebration in the spirit of joy and gratitude for the gift of Mother Foundress to us and to the Church… BLESSED BE GOD FOREVER!
