BEING RENEWED IN SPIRITUAL GOVERNANCE Last May 21, 2011, the Hijas de Jesús Superiors and Representatives of the Congregation for the Apostolic Work (RCAs) of Panay and Cebu gathered together at the Colegio de las Hijas de Jesús (Iloilo City) for a day of sharing and reflection with our Provincial Superior, Sr. Georgette Hormillosa, FI, on some important topics that would greatly help each one in the discharge of her office as a consecrated person in authority. The participants were: Srs. Rosa Ortega, Nelida Peñaflorida, Patricia Aragon, Thelma Barbarona, Rebecca Loreto, Eufemia Pomado, Nilda Genovate, Nilda Paloma, Delia Pedroso. The Superiors & RCAs of Metro Manila communities had their encounter with Sr. Georgette last 25 June 2011 at Manresa School, Parañaque.
The main points for sharing and reflection during the whole-day encounter were some priorities from (1) the instructional material of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life & Societies of Apostolic Life entitled “SERVICE OF AUTHORITY & OBEDIENCE” and (2) “DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY” an excerpt from the book AUTHORITY: ITS USE & ABUSE by Fr. C.P. Varkey, SJ. There was a familial and open atmosphere especially when we shared our joys and difficulties in spiritual governance. All of us participants are very grateful to Sr. Georgette for her time, effort and concern in forming us in the discharge of our office as servant leaders. [see photos of the Iloilo City encounter]
