Welcome to the Philippines, Sr. Anny!
Sr. Anny Peña arrived in the Philippines last January 14, 2010. She is from the Dominican Republic. After a few days of rest and adjustment, she immediately plunged herself into the “world of the students”. Sr. Anny is in the Philippines to study English and get to know the culture of the country. She is now enrolled at the Christian Language Student Center in Quezon City as a student in English in a special tutorial class on Saturdays. She also goes to Nazareth School for three days where she joins some classes to learn and practice English. Armed with zeal and enthusiasm to learn, Sr. Anny will surely get the hang of speaking English very soon. We wish her good luck!
A few days after Sr. Anny arrived, she experienced the warmth and familial ways of the Nazarethans as she celebrated her birthday with them. They serenaded her with birthday song and showered her with flowers and gifts.

Sr. Anny goes home to Mater Dei community where she also had a simple celebration of her birthday. On her first Sunday with the Sisters, she prepared a typical food of the Dominican Republic… see photo.
